Oasis NC raises enough money to buy new bus

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)- Months of fundraising has finally paid off for Oasis NC.

We first told you about the group back in february when they first started fundraising for a school bus.

Up until now, the teachers at the center would use their personal cars to transport the kids from one place to another.

“About 3 or 4 students in each car and we do a little caravan over to UNCW,” Director Erika Merriman said.

Merriman finally got to pick up the vehicle from Jeff Gordon Chevrolet

Oasis NC is a center for kids with autism. Merriman say this van will allow them to travel around the community more.
