Obama to campaign in Durham, hold small-dollar fundraiser
DURHAM (AP) — Illinois Sen. Barack Obama is coming to North Carolina to campaign in the home state of rival Democrat John Edwards.
Obama’s campaign said Friday that it will host a “Countdown to Change” fundraiser in Durham on Nov. 1. Edwards is a former North Carolina senator who lives in nearby Chapel Hill.
Both are seeking the Democratic nomination along with front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Obama’s “Countdown to Change” events are designed as small-dollar fundraisers. General admission tickets are $25 while students can get in for $15.
