Ocean Isle Beach bridge closed, curfew starts

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Odell Williamson Bridge to Ocean Isle Beach is closed, and the town has initiated a curfew.

Around 1:45 p.m., the town announced a curfew effective immediately until 6 a.m. Sunday. All residents must remain on their property during the curfew.

According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the bridge was set to close to all traffic at 1 p.m. The bridge closes when sustained wind speeds reach 50 mph.
