Developer provides update on River Road project, future look

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A spokesperson for the future RiverLights property off of River Road has provided the public an update on the progress as well as a sneak peak into what the road will look like, once reopened.

Spokeswoman Noelle Omer said in a news release Monday afternoon the project is on schedule, with a completion date of December 23. A portion of the busy road has been closed since September.

Omer said drivers will see a large difference in the road when it reopens, including new lighting, fresh blacktop and wider lanes. There will also be a 10-feet-wide multi-use path for cyclists and pedestrians that runs parallel to t he road.
