One arrested in deadly Whiteville home invasion

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Chadbourn man has been arrested after a home invasion in Whiteville turned deadly.
According to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, two sergeants and two deputies were called to a home in the 900 block Sunset Terrace around 7:30pm on Saturday.
When they arrived, they found Summer Addison in a bedroom of the home, laying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the arm and another near her stomach. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
According to Addison’s boyfriend, she called him on the phone and told him his grandson, Jordan Jyreke Irvin Williams, was threatening her and demanding money. The boyfriend said he then heard shots, so he came home.
When he arrived, he found Addison injured and called the Sheriff’s Office.
According to the boyfriend, Williams shot Addison.
The boyfriend also told deputies that earlier that morning, Williams appeared intoxicated, so he asked Williams to leave the residence. An argument broke out, and as Williams was leaving, he threatened to return. Shortly after Williams left, gunshots were fired into the home.
Witnesses told investigators Williams returned to the house, forced his way in through a window, and shot Addison. Deputies found shell casings inside and outside the house.
Williams was arrested in Chadbourn on Sunday. He is charged with Murder and First-Degree Burglary.
He is currently being held in the Columbus County Detention Center without bond.
