One injured after car crashes into tree

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A car slammed into a tree and sent one person to the hospital this evening.

It happened on Myrtle Grove Road south of Piner Road around 7 p.m..

The crash left the driver pinned inside. Emergency crews freed the victim, who was transported to the hospital.

The victim’s name and condition are not being released at this time.
