One killed, another injured in Holly Ridge apartment fire
HOLLY RIDGE, NC (WNCT) — A fire that killed a man in Holly Ridge Tuesday has been ruled an accident, according to Onslow County officials.
Firefighters responded to an apartment on Circle Drive in Holly Ridge around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
After they arrived, they found Bobby Rodgers, 73, dead inside.
The other occupant, Mildred Rodgers, was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
The fire has been ruled accidental, according to the Onslow County Fire Marshal’s Office.
Crews from Holly Ridge Fire Rescue, Holly Ridge Police Department, Onslow County Emergency Medical Services, Turkey Creek Fire Rescue, North Topsail Beach Fire Department, and Surf City Fire Department responded to the scene.
