One man dead after Saturday evening shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are on the scene of a shooting, on Greenfield Street, that left one man dead.

Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay said police responded to the scene around 6:30 due to a ShotSpotter alert.

When they arrived, police said one male was dead and one was injured. The injured man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police said it does not appear to be a gang-related shooting.
