ONLY ON 3: Governor says manufacturing plant could come to area
RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — Education, the economy and gambling were topics of discussion during Gov. Bev Perdue’s roundtable with reporters in Raleigh today. WWAY was the only local TV station to make the trip to the Executive Mansion.
Perdue led the hour-long conversation with the economy her top concern. We asked the governor what specifically she has planned for Southeastern North Carolina when it comes to jobs and the economy.
“I’m really working on it,” she said. “I have a company right now that I’m not at the liberty to say. I met with the Secretary of Commerce yesterday about this manufacturing company. I’m very hopeful that our incentive package can be competitive with other states. I think it’s very important that New Hanover County and the Southeast do more than tourism and retirement.”
Coming up at eleven we’ll have more on todays discussion with the governor. We’ll even see where she stands now on video gaming.
