ONLY ON 3: McCrory looks back on 2014
RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — It’s been almost two years since Gov. Pat McCrory took office, and today we sat down with him exclusively and asked him is North Carolina better than it was two years ago?
He says the answer is yes.
McCrory touched on a host of issues from gay marriage to film incentives. He also talked about his relationship with Republicans in the state legislature.
Among the big questions we had was whether he is prepared to run again in 2016.
“I hope to run,” McCrory said. “I’m not even finished with my second year yet, so I guess that’s a sad statement on our political system that we have to start so early, but I have had people running against me since the day I was sworn in, so I know I have to get my campaign apparatus going again. There’s no doubt that North Carolina will be a major player in not only the gubernatorial race, but for the US Senate race and the presidential race.”
We’ll have more of our interview with the governor Tuesday on WWAY Newschannel 3 at 5 and 6 p.m., including what he has to say about big issues in our area, including film incentives, coal ash and off-shore energy exploration.
