ONLY ON 3: Police officer pepper sprays NHHS students

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A fight at New Hanover High School today ended with a police officer pepper spraying two students.

A school district spokeswoman says two male students got into a fight in the cafeteria. She says a school resource officer could not break it up, so he used a shot of pepper spray to stop it.

The students were treated by the school nurse, and their parents were notified. The school district could not say what punishment the boys might face.
