ONLY ON 3 UPDATE: Ukrainian women leave NC without pay

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — An update on a story you saw ONLY ON 3. The three Ukrainian women who claim they were mistreated and not paid by their employer are on their way home without their money.

The women left the Surf City area yesterday. The three say they never received their checks from the Waves Surf and Sports store in Surf City. The women claimed the owner was not paying them for hours of overtime, and that they were only paid a partial amount of what they were owed in cash.

Though the women left without money, they did enlist legal help from a Wilmington law firm. They hope now that they have an attorney they’ll get everything they say they deserve.
