ONLY ON 3 UPDATE: Waves owner arrested for threatening woman who helped workers
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A follow-up on a story you saw ONLY ON 3. The owner of the Waves Surf and Sport store in Surf City is in trouble after allegedly threatening the woman who helped three Ukrainian women who worked for him.
On Sunday, October 10, Pender County deputies served Henry Shitrit, owner of Waves, with an arrest warrant. The document claims that Shitrit communicated a threat, to the woman who helped three Ukrainian workers who say Shitrit never paid them for all the hours they worked at his store.
In a criminal complaint, Terry Walters says Shitrit threatened her over the phone back in August. Shitrit allegedly told Walters, “You shouldn’t have helped those girls. Now you’ve ruined your life. I’ll see to it. You wait and see.”
Shitrit was released on $400 unsecured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on one count of communicating threats October 27.
As for the allegations of Shitrit stiffing the three Ukrainians of a full check, no lawsuit has been filed, but the three women say they have enlisted the help of Wilmington law firm, in hopes of getting the money they’re owed.
