Onslow Co. woman named Marine Corps Spouse of the Year
ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The wife of a Marine stationed at MCAS New River has been named the 2015 Marine Corps Spouse of the Year.
Nicole Spaid has been married to Wes Spaid for 20 years. Spaid has been through 8 deployments and 10 moves during that time. The couple has three children.
Her volunteering and support lead to a nomination for the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year 2015. She was one of three finalists in the Marine Corps branch.
When she spoke to WCTI-TV earlier this month, she said she was shocked about the nomination.
“Military Spouse Magazine is the one that started to contact me and said, ‘Hey, your nomination has been accepted and we’d like for you to give us some information on yourself,'” said Spaid.
She will go on to the national vote March 4. To vote for Spaid, click here.
