Opening date announced for Hampstead Sheetz location

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The wait is almost over for fans of Sheetz convenience stores.

The company’s first Wilmington-area location is set to open for business on July 9th. The store is located at 17000 US Highway 17 in Hampstead, not far from Topsail High School.

While the store will officially open to customers at 8am, a ribbon cutting will be held at 10:45am.

As part of the grand opening festivities, Sheetz will be giving away free self-serve coffee and soda for the entire opening day. There will also be several prize giveaways, including a grand prize of free Sheetz for a year.

Sheetz will also donate $2,500 to Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina… and are encouraging any customers who stop by on opening day to donate a non-perishable food item to the non-profit. Those who donate will receive a Sheetz branded item.

A second donation of $2,500 will also be presented to Special Olympics North Carolina.

Sheetz currently operates more than 730 stores across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.
