Overturned dump truck closes 421 near Isabel Holmes Bridge

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An overturned dump truck that spilled its load has shut down part of a busy road near Wilmington.

Viewer Robin Waller sent in a photo of the accident, which shows the truck’s load of sand spilled over US 421 N at the foot of the Isabel Holmes Bridge.

New Hanover County Dispatch says the call came in at 10:28 a.m. The road was back open at about 2:30 p.m.
