Packages From Home connects locals, soldiers
WILMINGTON — Part of the Fourth of July festivities around town happened at Independence Mall Tuesday morning.
Packages From Home, a non-profit organization, set up a drop off event allowing people to connect with the men and women in our military. Unwanted cell phones, magazines, toiletries, cards and letters were dropped off.
The supplies will then be shipped to our military overseas. Packages From Home founder Thomas Russell said, "The packages show that we still have respect for our military cause they are doing a job and its a difficult job, whatever political side you're on has nothing to do with it the men are out there and who are actually defending the country."
