Painting to close bridge nightly through late July

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Just in time for the Azalea Festival and tourist season, the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge will be closed down at night until the end of July.

The DOT says the bridge will be closed in both directions each night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. so crews can finish a painting project that started a year ago. The closures are scheduled to run until July 28.
