Panic Attack adding second haunted attraction for 2026 season in Nakina

NAKINA, NC (WWAY) — It may still technically be summer, but spooky season is already taking shape in Columbus County.

Panic Attack Haunted Attraction in Nakina is preparing to open for the 2026 Halloween season on Oct. 2, this year with a second attraction added to its lineup.

In a Facebook post, organizers say admission will include both the returning Panic Attack attraction and a new experience called Pine Level Asylum.

The new attraction begins with a staged bus ride before guests continue on foot through a wooded and swamp-themed area leading to the fictional asylum. The attraction includes themed rooms, actors, lighting, sound effects and other horror elements.

Panic Attack, which has operated in Nakina for several years, also returns with its traditional haunted-house format featuring sets, animatronics and live actors. WWAY previously reported on the attraction in 2020 and 2022.

According to event information, one ticket provides access to both haunted attractions.

General admission is listed at $39.99, with Fast Pass admission at $59.99 and VIP admission at $79.99. Organizers say prices may vary depending on ticket type and availability.
