Part of Wilmington Riverwalk temporarily closed for construction

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Starting Monday, parts of the Riverwalk in downtown Wilmington will be closed for the next two weeks.

Construction of two new connections between the Riverwalk and North Waterfront Park will require a 2-week closure.

From Monday to Friday and again from June 29 to July 3, a contractor will be installing structural piles for the walkways that will connect the park to the riverwalk.

It will open during the weekend of June 27-28 before closing again.

Pedestrian traffic on the Riverwalk will be detoured off of the Riverwalk to North Front Street between Harnett and Cowan Streets.
