Pedestrian hit, killed by car on Carolina Beach Road
WILMINGTON, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) — A 15-year-old boy was killed Saturday night when he was hit by a vehicle on Carolina Beach Road.
Jeremy Martin, 42, was driving in the southbound lane near Mike’s Mulch and Stone at about 10 p.m. when Joseph Rutherford jumped into the lane, where Martin’s SUV struck him.
“The driver just didn’t see him,” said Sgt. C.K. Parks of the NC Highway Patrol.
