Pedestrian killed after hit and run, suspect in custody

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run accident near 15th and Greenfield Streets in Wilmington Saturday afternoon.

Police say a red Jeep Cherokee hit the victim. The victim was taken to the hospital after the accident, but later died from his injuries according to Wilmington Police.

Police say a suspect and a car matching the description are both in custody.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
