Pedestrian killed Christmas Eve identified

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Investigators have released the name of a man who died in a Christmas Eve accident in Wilmington.

A car hit 57-year-old Elbert Ray Williams as he crossed Carolina Beach road near Parkway just after sunset Friday night. Investigators say Williams was dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating. The driver has not been charged.
