Pender County schools superintendent resigns

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Pender County schools superintendent Allison Sholar has resigned to take a job as the superintendent of Currituck County Schools.

School board member Tom Roper says that Sholar will be a huge loss for the county, but they fully support her in her move. Roper says that Sholar has about 90 days left in her contract with the school system, and that her last day will be September 13.

The county will use the State School Board Association in their search for a new superintendent.

Sholar was named superintendent in 2007.
