Pender County searching for registered sex offender

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a registered sex offender who did not report his change of address.

Jeremiah Wayne Lewis, 24, left his home in Willard on Wednesday and is now missing.

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office says there is a warrant for his arrest for failing to report his change of address. Investigators say he may have left the state.

The Sheriff’s Office says Lewis is listed on the state’s sex offender registry as a recidivist offender after being convicted twice for indecent liberties with a child in 2012 and 2014.

Lewis is 5’5″ and weighs 140 lbs.
