Pender County Sheriff’s Office searching for missing Army veteran

Editor’s Note: The body of Evangelisto Arroyo has been found. The sheriff says foul play is not suspected.

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing man.

According to a press release, Evangelista Angel Arroyo, 22, has been reported missing.  Arroyo’s last known contact was on or about 10:00pm on October 15 at his residence on Crooked Creek Drive in Burgaw.

Arroyo is an Army veteran. He is considered a danger to himself and is possibly in the possession of a handgun.  It is unknown what Arroyo was wearing at the time he was reported missing and it is possible he left on foot.
