Pender officials hire new county manager

PENDER COUNTY, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) — The Pender County Commissioners emerged from a closed session Monday evening and announced the hiring of a new county manager, ending a search that has gone on since former manager Mickey Duvall resigned in early June.

The board hired Randell K. Woodruff, who currently holds the same position in Beaufort County. He is expected to start in mid-January, probably with some overlap with Acting County Manager Bob Murphy, and will earn $145,000 a year with a standard county employee benefits package.
