Pender County teacher involved in fatal car wreck

A Pender County teacher is dead after a car accident on North College Road. 60 year old Daisy Smith Larkins of Rocky Point hit a piece of construction equipment on North College near Parmalay Road Thursday night. Larkins taught at Pender High School.

The highway patrol says a construction company working in the area was transporting a large piece of equipment across the road. Investigators say Larkins drove past a flagman who was directing traffic when the accident happened. No one else was hurt.
