Pender Humane Society is on the move

The Pender Humane Society is officially in transit.

Humane Society president, Gloria Johnson, said volunteers moved the animals out of their old Burgaw location this past weekend.

The society was evicted in November and had until the end of the year to move out. Staff is now housing the animals in a temporary location until they can raise enough money to finish construction on their new building. They are hopeful that it will be ready by April.

The Humane Society is not disclosing the location of their temporary facility, because they do not want people to drop off any more animals.
