Pennell honored as state’s best principal

It turns out the best principal in the state works right here in Brunswick County.

On Thursday, the state school system and Wachovia named South Brunswick High principal Vann Pennell the state’s best.

Pennell started working in education thirty years ago as a teacher and coach in the northeastern part of North Carolina.

He said he was humbled and honored by the recognition and attributed his success to his students and staff at South Brunswick.
