A Pennsylvania man is being held in connection with the discovery of explosives two weeks ago in New Hanover County, according to a federal official.

The FBI on Friday confirmed that Istvan A. Merchenthaler, 42, was in custody. He faces charges in connection with a Ponzi scheme that officials say defrauded $2 million from investors over seven years, according to media reports in Pennsylvania.

On Thursday 60 pipe bombs were discovered in a storage locker in Chester County, Pa., that was traced to Merchenthaler, a law enforcement official told Philly.com.
