Pepsi will expand Winston-Salem call center
WINSTON-SALEM, NC (AP) — Pepsi Beverages Co. is expanding its Winston-Salem call center with a $7.5 million investment that will bring 195 jobs to the area.
Gov. Beverly Perdue announced the expansion in a Monday visit to the facility. Pepsi committed to the expansion partly because of a $400,000 grant from the state’s One North Carolina Fund.
The company expects the expansion will take place over three years.
Pepsi employs about 900 people at the call center, which is one of seven across the country. The company said earlier this year it plans to consolidate them into four.
The company says the average pay for the new jobs will be about $36,000 per year plus benefits.
