Perdue has concerns over state’s budget as problems get worse

Governor Bev Perdue says the state’s budget problems are getting worse. Yesterday she told most state agencies to cut nine percent of their budgeted amounts for the current fiscal year. Last month, she had asked for cuts up to seven percent. In addition to declining revenues, the governor says the state is receiving $150 million less from the federal stimulus package than expected.
