Petition push for Oak Island man to Rock Hall
You wouldn’t think retirement on the Brunswick County coast would be a stop on the road to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Clay Cole may change that.
Cole retired from the television industry and now enjoys his life on Oak Island. He is best known for his nine-year run on the New York City TV series called “The Clay Cole Show,” which featured Rock and Roll legends such as the Rolling Stones, Frankie Valli and Dionne Warwick.
Cole still has a huge fan base, and they are petitioning for his induction to the Hall of Fame in the non-performer category.
“I was stunned,” Cole said. “I mean secretly every musician or performer has a secret fantasy of being inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But to me it was like get in line, everyone wants to be in the Hall of Fame.”
Cole also just recently wrote a book about his life in television entitled “Sha-Boom.”
