Pleasure Island Police has new motto
Pleasure Island Police now have a new motto, thanks to a Carolina Beach Elementary fourth grader.
Sydney Jones won the school’s motto contest with her slogan, “Proudly Protecting Our Coastal Community.” Any of the school’s two-hundred plus students could enter.
Jones’ winning slogan will appear on all the police cruisers. One of her prizes includes a police escort to school for the next week. “It is exciting. I really didn’t think it could happen. I was anxious all this week because my teacher kept saying someone in our class had won,” said Jones.
And of course, there was a runner up. Honorable mention went to Finn Sweetz with his slogan, “And you thought your momma was tough.”
