Police: Armed duo kicks down door of home, searches for money

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say two men with a gun kicked down the door of a Wilmington home, demanding money early Sunday.

Wilmington Police say it happened just before 1 a.m. at 222 Wooddale Drive. That’s where officers say two men who did not live at the home were inside when the duo, one with a revolver in hand, kicked down the door, asking “where the money was.”

Police say one of the men ordered a victim to go to the other room to search for the money the robbers were looking for. Officers say both suspects are described as being between 35 and 40 years old, both between 5’10” and 6’2″ tall.

They say one of the robbers was wearing a dark sports coat, and the other was wearing a black sweater at the time of the crime. Police say the duo took off in a car after leaving the home. There’s no word on what the men got away with, and WPD is still investigating.
