Police charge man in death of Ft. Bragg soldier

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (AP) — Fayetteville police have charged a man
with a hit-and-run wreck that killed a Fort Bragg soldier in April.

The Fayetteville Observer reports that 31-year-old Leonard
McMurray has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, felony
hit-and-run and failure to yield the right of way.

The Fayetteville man is being held on $35,000 bond in Cumberland
County jail. It couldn’t be immediately determined Monday if he has
a lawyer.

Police say McMurray crashed into a motorcycle driven by Sgt.
Carson Morris on April 23. They say McMurray drove away after the
wreck.

Morris was a 35-year-old native of Barbados and was a mechanic
in the 82nd Sustainment Brigade’s 7th Transportation Battalion.
