Police identify body found at apartment complex

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police know the name of a man found dead in the parking lot of a Wilmington apartment complex yesterday, but they still are not sure how he died.

WPD spokeswoman Linda Rawley says the body has been identified as Sherman D. Gary Jr., 35. She says his last known address was Brooklyn, NY.

Gary’s body was found in the parking lot of the Glenmeade Village Apartments near S. 17th Street yesterday morning.

Rawley says his body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, but the results are not yet back.
