Police investigating after armed duo robs Wilmington tire shop
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are searching for two suspects they say robbed a tire shop at gunpoint Saturday morning.
It happened around 10:15 a.m. at the 17th Street Tire Shop at 516 S. 17th Street. That’s where officers say two employees were working when the duo approached them in the bay area of the business.
Police say the two robbers forced the workers into the lobby area at gunpoint before one of them stole cash and a cell phone there. The two suspects then took off running, heading north of S. 17th Street.
Officers say one of the suspects is described as a black male in his 30s, who was wearing a black hoodie at the time of the crime. They say the other is described as a light-skinned black male, who was wearing a green, beanie hat and matching sweater.
