Police investigating after armed robbery overnight

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after an armed robbery was reported near a Wilmington apartment complex.

They said it happened just before 3 a.m. in the 1400 block of Cobblestone Drive. That’s where an officer said a man reported getting robbed by two men in hoodies.

Police said the man told them he was waved down by the suspects before the duo robbed him with a gun. An officer said the men got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
