Police investigating Lower Cape Fear Historical Society’s damaged sign


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington police need the community’s help getting information about a damaged sign for the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society Latimer House.

The house is in downtown Wilmington at the intersection of 3rd and Orange Streets. A spokeswoman with the police department said only about 25 percent of the sign is left in front of the historic house.

Police said on June 13, the owner of the house reported a possible hit and run or vandalism at 3:30 p.m. after they noticed the damaged sign that morning at 9:30 a.m.
