Police: Man jumped and stabbed in Wilmington Tuesday night

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man was taken to the hospital after police say he was jumped and stabbed in Wilmington Tuesday night.

Around 9:45 p.m., Wilmington police officers were dispatched to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in reference to a stabbing victim.

The man told police the incident happened in the 400 block of Rutledge Drive.

His injuries appeared to be non-life threatening, police say.

Also Tuesday night, police responded to a shooting in the Hillcrest community, leaving one injured.

These cases are still under investigation.
