Police: Man who hit several cars, kept going also charged with DWI

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A 31-year-old man is in jail after Wilmington Police say he hit several vehicles under the influence Wednesday night.

Investigators say a witnesses flagged down an officer on Nun Street and said they saw a white Subaru Forester hit multiple cars on the street.

Police found the Subaru at a home in the 400 block of South Front Street.

They say after a brief struggle, they arrested Charles Louis Edwards.

Edwards was charged with DWI, resisting arrest, hit and run, larceny of a motor vehicle, and driving while license revoked.

According to BustedMugShots.com, Edwards was arrested in 2010 in Garner for assault on a female, assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats, and failure to appear on a misdemeanor.

JustMugShots.com also shows that same year Edwards was arrested in Myrtle Beach for felony aggravated assault.
