Police nab man suspected of robbing two banks in five days
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police and US Marshals arrested Mark Taylor Treanor this afternoon for allegedly robbing a bank on Oleander Drive.
Witnesses say the 43-year-old went into the First Citizens Bank, handed the teller a note that demanded money and stated he had a weapon. Within a few hours, members of the US Marshals Task Force had Treanor in custody in a parking lot off the 1900 block of Oleander Dr.
Investigators think Treanor also robbed the State Employees Credit Union last Thursday morning. He is charged with 2 counts of armed robbery and is in the New Hanover County Jail.
