Police: Person inside house hit by bullet was not shooter’s target

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are still investigating a Saturday shooting after they say the person inside a home hit by a bullet was not believed to be the shooter’s target.

They say the shooting happened just before 3 p.m. at 804 Queen Street. That’s where police say ShotSpotter picked up shots fired in the area. Officers on the scene say they discovered that a bullet had hit a home.

Police say they recovered one bullet from the home, but that no one was hurt in the shooting. They say officers do not believe that the person inside the home was the shooter’s target. WPD is still investigating.
