Police: PTA president steals more than $4,000

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — Burgaw Police are looking for a woman accused of stealing thousands from at PTA while she was its co-president.

Police said they are looking for Shawn-Jaria Jasmine James, of Maple Hill; she’s accused of stealing the money while she was the co-president of the Burgaw Elementary School PTA from August to September.

When arrested, police said James faces 15 felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
