Police: SC firefighter asks undercover cop for sex, thinks it’s 14-yr-old girl

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – A North Charleston firefighter is in jail, accused of knowingly asking who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl for sex, and sending her pornographic photos.

Nicholas Jimno, 24, was arrested Tuesday. He is in jail at the Al Cannon Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. Jimno is charged with three counts of criminal sexual solicitation of a minor, and one count of distributing obscene material to a minor.

According to charge affidavits provided by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, Jimno reached out in early August to an undercover deputy posing on social media as a 14-year-old girl.

The deputy reports Jimno sent several text messages over the course of four days, asking for oral sex, discussing sexual history and pornography, asking for pictures of the “girl,” and eventually sending several pornographic images.

The conversation primarily focused on oral sex, with Jimno reportedly telling the deputy that guys would take girls anywhere they wanted to go in exchange for oral sex while driving.

As for the images, the deputy reports Jimno sent the girl eight photos, including one of a woman in bondage, one of a woman crying while performing oral sex, and another of an erect penis Jimno claimed was his. Affidavits show Jimno’s face was not visible in the photo of the penis to corroborate it being his.

The deputy reports repeatedly telling Jimno throughout their conversation that the “girl” Jimno thought he was talking to was 14. The deputy says Jimno acknowledged this and continued the conversation.

Affidavits show the sheriff’s office was able to trace the phone used in the text conversations to Jimno through two separate databases.

The North Charleston Fire Department on Tuesday said it was aware of Jimno’s arrest and the charges against him.

“Nicholas Jimno has been employed as a firefighter with the NCFD since April 2014,” NCFD officials said in a prepared statement. “We are aware of the charges and he is on administrative leave until further notice.”

Jimno was in bond court Wednesday morning, where a magistrate judge set a $20,000 surety bond.
