Police search for woman who robbed Wendy’s overnight

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are searching for the an armed robber, after a woman stole money from the Wendy’s on South College Road.

It happened just before 2:30 a.m. after workers had locked up for the night. Employees say they were cleaning when the woman somehow entered the business with a gun, demanding money.

Police say the suspect is black, 5’4″ inches tall, and was wearing a dark blue puffy jacket with tan pants. She left in a silver, two-door Silverado pick-up truck.

Police found some of the money and weapon she dropped while heading south on South College Road.
