Police: Shallotte Dollar General robber pushed pregnant worker

SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — Police are searching for a masked man they say forced employees into a bathroom when he robbed a Shallotte Dollar General last night.

It happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Shallotte store at 5001 Main Street. That’s where detectives say a man in his 30s entered the store with a black do-rag covering his face while workers were doing a cash drop after closing.

Police say the man pushed a pregnant employee to the ground before forcing the two women into the restroom while he stole an unknown amount of money. Detectives say the man, who is described as being between 5’6″ and 5’8″, was wearing a blue Carolina hoodie at the time of the crime, and may have gotten into a silver Buick getaway car.
