Police close downtown street after suspicious bag found

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police shut down Water Street downtown for a few hours this morning after finding a suspicious bag. The call came in around 9:50 a.m.

Wilmington’s bomb squad went out to investigate. Around noon police said there were no explosives in the bag. Instead it looked to be a bag of clothes.
